The first one is called Give Us This Mountain.. We actually did it for the opening night of Bootcamp. Its super easy and shouldn't take much time to figure it out again.

And the second one will be Catch on Fire which we have done many times....

Continue to listen to Sending the Fire... We are currently waiting on the music from IBC so we are gonna push that one out for our upcoming practices.

  • New Song Sunday Night 2010-08-08

Hey choir for Sunday night were going to do a song we did for Easter.. Its called "Its Your Love". By Hillsong

Please check out this link the choir would sing on the chorus and bridge... Its pretty simple and I think with a little practice we should have it down easily.

The verses and chorus will be like this version

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCCVe3SyUdY

And the bridge will be similar to this without the big sticatto/opera intro.. Pretty much from when the guitars come in real hard.

  • Musicians Practice Only 2010-08-05

  • Excellence a"CHOIR"ed

What an incredible job everyone did last night...

Sis Jen and Steph thank you so much for leading us and pushing us to not just be great but "Excellent". It amazes me how drastically God moves when his people worship him in spirit and in truth and he showed out big time last night..

Thank you all for your time and commitment, its a beautiful blessing to be apart of such an effective music team.. You guys are all top notch.

May the blessings of the Lord be with you today.

    Moving forward

  • Camp Grandness

To all those who participated in altar service on Sun night... You did a wonderful job, even in spite of having to sing into choir mics, and the ever present conundrum of "not being able to hear anything" you sounded in sync and on key. Great to know we have dependability even in the most umm belligerent environments lol...

Cant wait to see the move of the Holy Ghost when our choir blows those bricks right off the walls... We sing with one united voice, and anointing. And those two together equal mighty moves of God, and incredible musical satisfaction to those who just might be listening with a critical ear. haha!

Cant wait for Tuesday... You guys rock x 10

     Jason

Everyone needs to be on time.  Please do not drag in late tonight.  We have a lot of things to cover!  I would like for you all to meet in the room just off of the kitchen, where we were last week.  If you're apart of the Pre-Show, please meet in the gymnasium.

Thank you everyone for your hard work!  See you tonight!  It's gonna be fun!

  • Music Practice June 25th

It's about time we had practice!!!!!  I have enjoyed the time off but I'm looking forward to being back together again for music practice.  We will work on the song "Hosanna".  The Sr. Campers did this song out at camp, and I think it would be a great one for us to do.  We will also finalize some details regarding our Music Dinner Theater, so be prepared!

You all sounded great last night...I was very impressed with the way it sounded!  Choir, you add so much to the worship service.  Don't ever feel like you are just stuck in the background.  If you think that, go buy a DVD and watch the service!!  You guys did GREAT last night...the music sounded amazing.  See you all Thursday evening!

  • Block Party & Music Practice

Hey everyone....just a reminder that we will be practicing for Family Fest '09 Thursday night at 7 PM.  The youth will be meeting at 6:30 PM for Fusion Frenzy practice, in the Annex.  If you have been recruited to work somewhere during Family Fest, please email me ASAP.  If we have too many choir members out working in other areas, we will not be able to have the choir sing during Family Fest.  I hope that we have enough...it would be neat to have the entire choir sing during this event!  You all work hard during practice and I would love for you to be apart of an outdoor event.

We will review these songs Thursday evening: Cover the Earth, Filled with Glory, & Came to My Rescue.

I only received 2 emails from the new choir members.  I need for you all to email me at stephanie@calvaryokc.org, if you are a new choir member.  I want to send you the schedules for Sunday but I can't if I don't have your email address.  Thanks and see you Thursday!

  • May 2009 Calendar

Please let me know if you are unable to view the schedule for May.  Thank you!

  • May 7 Music Practice

We will go over "But by the Grace of God", "Cover the Earth" & "Unto the Lamb".  These should be on your choir cd's, except for "Cover the Earth".  That one is on your Bootcamp CD.  If you don't have any choir cds, we will get them to you on Thursday.  I will post "But By the Grace of God" & "Cover the Earth".

Also, if you are a new choir member, you need to email me so I have your email address on file.  My email address is in your choir handbook.  See you all on Thursday!  You guys sounded really great yesterday...it was a very FULL sound!

  • Any Crown Chord Chart

There are some minor changes to this chord chart.  We will go over them Sunday during practice, but please print this off for Sunday evening...or memorize it :)

  • April 30 Music Practice

Just reminding you all that we do NOT have practice this Thursday!  Hope you all have a great evening!  We will resume practice next week.  Be on the lookout for a new song post soon.  Also, don't forget to pray for Ray Lena & his family, as he will be leaving us next week for Korea.

  • Easter Sunday

Just reminding you all to be there at 8:30 AM tomorrow morning!  See you then!

  • April 9 Music Practice

You all did an excellent job this weekend!  Wanna say a big thank you to Jason B. and Ray for their "fast action"!

Practice this Thursday will consist of "Trading My Sorrows", "We Have Overcome" (fast), "I Am Free" and "Nothing But the Blood".  Musicians and choir MUST be ready to go on all songs.  This practice will not be a learning practice for all of you "oldies" :)  See you guys on Thursday!  Love y'all!

  • April 2 Music Practice

For those of you that weren't at practice Sunday night, Thursday's practice is mandatory.  If you absolutely cannot be there, I MUST be given a phone call, along with an explanation.  This is going to be a special meeting and it's very important that you are there.  Continue to listen to "Nothing But the Blood" for our Easter service.  We will go over some more Easter songs on Thursday night.  They will be old ones that we already know :)  See you all on Thursday!  You guys did a great job yesterday in keeping the worship going!

  • March 19th Music Practice

We will begin "Nothing but the Blood" and hopefully learn a new song called "Breakthrough".  I don't have a recording of this.  The only way you can listen to this song is to YouTube it, for those of you that can.  The song is originally done by Peder Eide.  We will not do it just like his version.  When you look it up on YouTube, search for "Breakthrough bott" and it should be the first one to pull up.  Let me know if you're having trouble!  See you all Thursday!

P.S. If you will be available next Friday evening, March 27th, please let me know.  We have been asked to sing that evening.  Bro. Martin apologized for it being last minute.  I don't know what song to sing yet, so please be praying for me.  Thank  you guys!

  • The Wonderous Cross

Okay, wow...I am now a firm believer that being pregnant really does make you dumb!  "The Wonderful Cross" is NOT the song that I want to do for Easter! (haha)  Soooo.....I have posted the new song...and yes, it is by Matt Redman, but it's called "Nothing But The Blood".  I'm sure you've heard it before.  If not, listen to it this week and we'll review on Thursday.  Also, don't forget to listen to "We Have Overcome" on your choir cd.  Sorry for all of the confusion!!  The correct song list for this week is:

    1. Nothing But the Blood (Matt Redman)

    2. We Have Overcome (slow/choir cd)

    3. Alpha & Omega (YouTube/Israel & New Breed)

  • Alpha & Omega

I don't have this song on file, so look it up on YouTube.  I am working on a chord chart and will post it soon!

  • March 12 Music Practice

If you weren't here on Sunday night to get a list of the songs we'll be going over this week, they are: "When I Survey the Wonderous Cross"(Matt Redman), "Alpha Omega"(Israel) and "We Have Overcome" (slow song).  I will post these songs files, as well as chord charts.  Musicians, you need to listen to "We Have Overcome" (slow) this week.  We would like to do it this Sunday evening.  The timing is challenging on this song.  I will post a chord chart for it.  See you all on Thursday!  Next time we have a dinner night, we will go to a buffet (haha) Love you guys!

  • Dinner Night Out

I apologize that I didn't get with you all earlier this week.  I haven't been feeling very well.  Here's the plan for tomorrow night: We will meet at Ted's Cafe on S. Walker (just South of I-240 on the left hand side) at 7:30 PM.  This will allow the youth to be apart of our dinner as well.  I hope you all can make it.  If you would, please call or text me tomorrow to let me know if you are coming and how many will be coming with you (spouse & children, if they are coming).  Thank you!  See you all tomorrow night!

  • Feb 26 Music Practice

Because we did not have practice last week, we WILL have practice this week.  I know that it is the last Thursday of the month, but we skipped last week's and we really need to practice this week.  Please continue to listen to both "We Have Overcome" songs.  We will also review rules and guidelines of the platform.  Please be at this meeting if at all possible.  Thank you!  Email me or call me if you aren't able to attend this week!  See you Thursday!

  • February 19 Music Practice

We will work on "We Have Overcome" again, by Israel & New Breed.  This song should be on your bootcamp cd, as well as on the website.  Please listen to it thoroughly.  This music practice is a very important one.  We will be reviewing some rules and guidelines of the platform and the music ministry.  Please be on time.  If you aren't going to make it to this meeting, or you will be late, please call or text me.  Thank you!!

  • Merry Christmas

You all did a wonderful job this past weekend!  The music and worship was great and the children were adorable!  This has been a great year for our church and for us as individuals.  I am excited to see what will happen next year!  I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I pray that God blesses each and every one of you.  You all are special to me and I couldn't be more proud of our music department!  Choir--you all have achieved the next level (for this year hehe).  Thank you for being sensitive during worship services and allowing God to work through you.  Your sacrifice doesn't go unnoticed.  I know there are times that you just want to stay home and skip out on practice, yet you continue to be faithful to the work of God.  You WILL be blessed!  To all of the musicians--you're the best in the world to work with!  You are some of the most talented people I've ever met.  What makes you stand out the most is your attitude.  You all are willing to try anything and I appreciate that about you.  I love you all!  See you on Sunday.  (I won't be sending out a schedule, but Sunday morning will be the regular Sunday AM team.  Check your December calendar for any questions.)  Merry Christmas!

  • Shout Unto God

Hey everyone!  Thanks for being at practice last night....I felt that it was a great practice.  I'm really impressed with our new musicians!  You guys are doing a great job!  Please listen to Shout Unto God for Sunday evening's service.  We will be doing it like the cd.  I will have a lead sheet for the worship leaders on Sunday.  See you all then!

  • Oct 9 Music Practice

This week we will be reviewing recent songs that we've learned, such as More of You Jesus, In the Sanctuary, Truth is Marching On, etc.  If you are currently learning how to play an instrument please bring it and your music on Thursday.

  • Practice Schedule Update

Well, it's been two weeks without any weekly practices!  I'm sure we are all rested up by now :)  We are going to try something for a while and see how it works out.  Here is the new schedule for Thursday evenings:

    Youth Practice--6:30 PM (Annex)
    Adult Practice--7:30 PM (Sanctuary)
    Hispanic Practice--8:30 PM (Annex)

This schedule will be effective next week, beginning on Thursday, Oct. 2nd.  These practices are only one hour long, so everyone needs to come prepared and early!  Not just on time--the transition between each practice will be much smoother if we have everyone's cooperation.

I'm looking forward to next week!  Please listen to "More of You Jesus".  We will be doing it next week, along with a choir song from your new choir cd.  Love you all!

  • New Song - More of You Jesus

We will be learning this song next week.  This song is by Pocket Full of Rocks.  It's pretty simple with a two-part harmony.

  • Boot Camp Music - Freedom

I have received many requests for a chord chart for Freedom, so here it is!  If you have any questions, please email me at stephanie@calvaryokc.org.  Hope you all enjoy!  It's a super easy song, very fun to play and sing, but be ready to play it for a long time, with a lot of energy!  God bless!
